Expansion to United Kingdom
Jaffabox is now a member of the Schumacher Packaging Group
On 5th November 2019, we took over packaging manufacturer Jaffabox Ltd based in Birmingham, England. In terms of technology, Jaffabox is fully up to speed and offers a varied selection of packaging solutions from corrugated board produced in-house – from shipping boxes to shelf-ready packaging all the way to tailored design services for individual customer requirements. With the takeover of Jaffabox, we are further expanding our presence on the European market. Particularly internationally active customers of the packaging expert with headquarters Germany, will reap the benefits in terms of logistics.
"Jaffabox offers immense potential which we will be able to perfectly fulfil together in our group of companies – to the benefit of all our customers.", Björn Schumacher, CEO Schumacher Packaging Group.
Still on course for international success
In 2018, the Schumacher Packaging Group, which is one of the largest independent family-run manufacturers of packaging solutions made from corrugated and solid board, increased their sales again. Compared to the previous year, there was a growth in sales of over 6 per cent – to the current figure of €627 million.
The new paper factory in Myszków
Self-sufficiency in the supply of raw materials
In early 2019, the production of recycling paper began in our new paper factory in the Polish town of Myszków – the first step involved a production capacity of around 150,000 tons and later, in a second step, a capacity of 300,000 tons per year. Together with the plant in Grudziądz, the Schumacher Group then manufactured over 400,000 tons of paper per year.
150th anniversary of the Schwarzenberg plant
Leading the way into the future with innovation and sustainability
In September 2018, we celebrated the 150th anniversary of the Schwarzenberg plant, together with our customers, suppliers and representatives from politics and commerce. The cardboard and packaging factory in Schwarzenberg became part of the Schumacher Packaging Group in 2008. The plant has always specialised in the production of solid board. The site has continued its impressive story of success under the management of the Schumacher family.
In Greven, we have built the Schumacher Packaging Group's 12th factory on a 100,000 m² plot in the AirportPark of the Münster/Osnabrück airport. In the first construction phase, with an investment volume of around €45 million, a highly modern corrugated board factory with an area of 20,000 m² was established on the site. With the Greven factory, we are moving the production of corrugated board packaging closer to important sales areas such as North-West Germany, the Scandinavian countries and the Benelux region.
