Packaging manufacturer thanks its deserving employees for their dedication

Ebersdorf bei Coburg, 14 October 2019 +++

Schumacher Packaging, one of the largest family-run manufacturers of corrugated and solid board packaging solutions, celebrated the company anniversaries of 75 men and women. On 11th October, at the traditional ceremony in Grub am Forst, the company management team honoured Schumacher Packaging employees from the Ebersdorf and Sonneberg plants who were celebrating their anniversaries. "The dedicated commitment and loyalty of our employees plays a significant role in the success of the company", commented CEO Björn Schumacher on the occasion of the celebration. "We are delighted when employees remain faithful to the company for ten, twenty years or more. And for that, we give you our most heartfelt thanks."

Since its foundation more than 70 years ago, the Ebersdorf-based packaging manufacturer has continued to grow steadily and expand internationally. With 29 sites in four countries, Schumacher Packaging now counts as one of Europe's largest owner-run companies in the sector. "Everyone in the company can feel proud of this development", declared Björn Schumacher. "Particularly as we have remained a family business, despite all our growth. We are aware of our responsibility. We want to offer people secure employment and foster a culture of collegiality and appreciation with flat organisational structures. Our experienced workers pass on their extensive knowledge and skills to the younger generation", emphasised Schumacher. "This is yet another reason why they are key to the sustainable success of the company."

Four decades in the company – a truly special achievement

Every year, the company management places great importance on honouring the commitment and reliability of long-standing employees. Several have been working for Schumacher Packaging for four decades already: In 2019, four employees are celebrating their 40-year company anniversary. These include Semun Capan, Inliner Machine Operator, Volkmar Carl, Representative for the corrugated board plant, and Hartmut Wolf, Employee in Dispatch and Shift Manager for many years.

Eric Nagel is one of those who have been with the company for the longest time. He took over the management of production when he joined 40 years ago. Since then, he has not only done an excellent job in the main production facility but also with the expansion of the Schumacher Packaging Group: With his immense experience and his technical know-how, he is one of our principal advisers. In 2013, he handed over the production management at the Ebersdorf plant to his son, Tilo Nagel, whom he assists with support and advice.

For 35 years now, Idris Suzan, Shift Manager for the corrugated board plant and Helmut Zapf, Inliner Machine Operator, have remained faithful to the company.
